About Kate
Kate is an entrepreneur and investor with decades experience in the publishing and construction sectors. She now runs the family business, after seeing her father Ian, skilfully grow it since 1994.
Kate writes about investment and changing family lifestyles, focused on supreme value for Australians wishing to enhance their home or property wealth.
Kate has a social responsibility agenda with initiatives like Cubitt’s Female Apprenticeship Programme and Tradespeople’s Mental Health Education.
About Tracey
Tracey is one of Cubitt’s career success stories! Starting as our Wollongong/Illawarra Front of House showroom consultants. Tracey managed the Wollongong showroom with great flair and attention for five years before embarking on her career as an on-road Design Consultant.
Since that time, Tracey has brought all of the rich knowledge she has gathered over her five years in showroom duties to bring excellent knowledge and advice to all our customers seeking to build a Granny Flat or Home Extension in the Illawarra region.
About Jasmin
Jasmin represents the heart of Cubitt’s Home Extensions Designs. As our Design Manager, our customer look to Jasmin to find creative, beautiful and functional solutions for their home extensions.
Our customers simply love Jasmin’s clear and empathic communication style, her creative solution seeking and her close collaboration with our licenced builders and estimators to ensure that all her design solutions are eminently buildable and within the customer’s price guidelines.
About Mark
One of our founding draftspeople for Granny Flats, Mark is part of the Cubitt’s Team who first drew the floorplans for the Granny Flats which continue to make up the core range of Cubitt’s designs today!
As part of the Cubitt’s team for 14 years, Mark has had the chance to review and refine the Cubitt’s base design floorplans to perfection.
About Melissa
Melissa, our Chief Financial Officer is the rock we all depend on. Joining Cubitt’s after a career spanning over 20 years in finance management for construction companies.
Melissa works closely with all parts of the business to ensure that our understanding of financial accounts are crystal clear. Melissa is a huge supporter of all members of the Cubitt’s team and has a deep understanding of the art of leadership and managerial motivation.
About Quennie
Quennie is known in the Cubitt’s team as the Revit Superstar 💫…famous for her talent of taking our Granny Flat concepts and spinning them like magic into stunning 3D mini dream-homes. Not only hyper-capable in Revit, Quennie can turn her hand to pretty much any design brief which the sales and marketing team can send her way.
Whenever someone asks her how she is, Quennie answers “Always happy” – and that’s spot on! We guess that’s what makes her such a fabulous Mum to one lucky son when she is away from her demanding role in the Cubitt’s Design Team.
About Scott
Please congratulate the Cubitt’s 2022 Supervisor of the Year, Scott Court! Scott is a vital member of the Cubitt’s Team, known for managing many Granny Flat sites concurrently - always with a smile. After spending 11 years in the building industry as a carpenter and a supervisor of a wide variety of construction projects, Scott joined Cubitt’s in March 2021 and has been setting the bar high for site excellence and personalised customer service ever since.
A Wollongong native, Scott can be found hanging with friends and family at the beach as often as the weather allows.
About Vanessa
Vanessa’s vital work in our Planning Department as the co-ordinator of the department makes her a lynchpin in the Cubitt’s “well oiled machine’. Vanessa keeps the Planning and Design Team moving with great skill and attention to detail, whilst also overseeing many of our Feasibility Studies.
Vanessa is a keen student and is currently studying architectural drafting with an emphasis on Revit to further enhance the quality of Feasibility Studies prepared for Cubitt’s customers
About Zain
Since joining the Cubitt’s estimating team, Zain has revolutionised the speed and accuracy that we have come to expect when Tendering for customer’s jobs.
A qualified civil engineer and quantity surveyor, Zain brings rich insights into how to best structure and price a Tender for our clients to ensure they are always receiving maximum value for the price they agree to.
About William
William joined Cubitt’s in 2020 as a Cadet and swiftly moved into his current role as Estimator after completing his Construction Management and Property from UNSW
Will’s ability to integrate technical construction expertise with property market knowledge allows him to provide superior service to our clients as the Estimator of their Cubitt’s Granny Flat or Extension Tender.
When he is not focussing on crunching the numbers for Cubitt’s clients, Will enjoys living near the beach and getting out of town to go 4WDing.
About Anthony
As Construction Cadet, Anthony is learning the ropes and is an up-and-coming member of the Cubitt’s Construction Administration team
Anthony is recently graduated from his Bachelor of Construction Management and is applying his newly minted credentials to the in-the-field work of a cadet with great skill
About Meegan
Meegan is Cubitt’s treasured Head of Systems and Compliance, which means Facilities and Fleet Management, Work Health & Safety compliance and Systems & Asset Management. Somehow she does a very serious role with loads of personality and flair!
Meegan joined Cubitt’s in 2013 and has taken every opportunity to learn as much as possible. She often found herself assisting each department just so she could further her knowledge, which came in very handy when she helped redesign Cubitt’s systems to go paperless and sustainable.
About Amanda
After 14 years in the Cubitt’s team, Amanda is a truly treasured member of the crew.
As Head of Accounts, Amanda runs a tight ship of 3 bookeepers, ensuring that the Cubitt’s team are always on top of their accounts and can provide answers for customers at any time of the working day.
About Jye
With over 14 years handling DA and CDC approvals, Jye is often referred to within Cubitt’s as “our secret weapon”. Jye’s skills in negotiation, communication and patience make him a team member greatly valued by both his collegues and our customers alike.
After 14 years, there is very little that Jye has not seen and overcome when you’re talking about Granny Flat DA or CDC approvals! When Jye is not applying his tactics and strategy to planning approvals, he loves to get on-site himself, recently completing his own beautiful brand new home to accommodate his growing family.
About Shay
Shay is the shining star of our Canberra Showroom. As our Colour Consultant in the ACT and surrounding areas, Shay gives customers the warmest welcome, along with stunningly creative and impressive colour selections appointments.
Shay’s approach to customer service excellence shines in our Front of House team, she really sets the bar for incredible customer attention and stunning colour selections
About Mercedes
Based in our Head Office, Mercedes is a talented Interior Designer with experience in both residential and commercial design.
“I love creating beautiful and functional spaces. I believe colour selections are an intimate invitation into someone’s life and I take pride in being able to assist clients in turning their vision into reality.”
Mercedes utilises this passion and skills to provide our customers with the very best in Customer Experience and Procurement of the exact products and finishes they want for a project they will treasure
Vince Zinghini is Cubitt’s Planning Director, overseeing our Council Planning and Design Teams. Vince has been with Cubitt’s for 15 years, building exceptional knowledge of council legislation and requirements throughout NSW and the ACT. As one of our earliest designers of Granny Flats, Vince’s continual drafting and refining of Cubitt’s designs have been a cornerstone of our highly developed, tried, and tested floorplans.
What Vince says he enjoys most about working at Cubitt’s is the friendly and hard-working group of people we have built here. He says “It is a joy being a part of the Cubitt’s team”.
About Dot
Dot is one of Cubitt’s longest serving and most knowledgeable team members. Dot was one of the proud founding members of Cubitt’s alongside Ian Cubitt and has proven time and again her superior skills in helping families and investors build the right granny flat or home extension for them.
Serving as our senior design consultant in the Goulburn to Canberra area, Dot has an impeccable knowledge of both NSW and ACT building legislation, as well as an innate sense of just what the right design will be for a project that any customer is looking to build with Cubitt’s.
About Paul
Whilst studying architectural drafting, Paul worked for a stint at Cubitt’s as a work experience student and we thought he was so great we asked him to join permanently!
Paul is a considered and focussed draftsperson with superior technical skills. As a hearing impaired person, Paul has been known to conduct conversations with our customers in AUSLAN from time to time which brings a whole new level of communication to our customers.
Paul is a keen traveller and recently completed a trip to Malta, Italy and France.
About Warrick
An experienced carpenter and site supervisor, Warwick is Cubitt’s greatest quiet achiever. Known for his level headed and gentle approach, Warwick is universally loved by Cubitt’s customers on site.
Warwick is always keen to listen to our customers needs and work harmoniously with the on site trade team to achieve optimum outcomes for builds with minimum fuss and maximum flair.
About Marianne
Marrianne is the crucial co-administration of our Planning Team, working alongside Jye Saliba.
The Cubitt’s team marvel at Marrianne’s can-do approach and her persistence and upbeat sense of pride in approaching the CDC and DA approvals for our customers.
The best parts of Marriane’s work days are contacting our customers to celebrate their approval or certification coming through – she really does treat every individual customer’s approval as a great cause for celebration!
