May 15, 2020

Planning to build a Granny Flat is an exciting time, not only due to providing flexible additional accommodation for your family, but also as an investment that is likely to increase the value of your existing property and bring in a constant, passive revenue stream to your overall income. However, when searching for a builder and mapping out your budget, it’s important to know you are getting good value-for-money for your investment. A great place to start is by looking at what’s included in a Granny Flat model package

Building Structure Inclusions

We’ve all heard the horror stories. Projects that painstakingly take years on end for completion, or brand-new buildings riddled with crumbling concrete, leaks in the roof or windows that don’t quite shut. Choose a builder that uses top-quality materials and delivers a structurally strong Granny Flat that will stand the test of time.

Our team have been building Granny Flats and Home Extensions for over 25 years, and have actively sourced, tried and tested high-quality materials from world-class suppliers. Every Granny Flat model by Cubitt’s includes COLORBOND® steel pitched roofing in a selection of colours to choose from, steel floor framing, well-engineered frames and trusses for added stability, aluminium framed windows and durable external cladding from Weathertex, James Hardie and more.

Our Granny Flats also include our Classic Structural Guarantee, a certified termite treatment as well as high-performance insulation to all floors, external walls and ceilings.

Internal Fittings Included

It’s easy to forget just how many internal fittings are needed in a new building. Cubitt’s build Granny Flats that are ready for living - with quality, functional and modern fittings. Every bedroom includes sliding mirrored wardrobe doors in white aluminium, complete with shelves and hanging rail fit-out, providing plenty of storage.

Cubitt’s kitchens include all kitchen cabinetry, benchtops, splashbacks, a stainless-steel sink and modern appliances such as an electric or gas cooktop, under-bench oven and recirculating rangehood. The bathroom is finished and all ready for use too, with a white ceramic toilet, wide white vanity, vanity mirror, clear glass aluminium framed shower screen, chrome tapware and matching accessories such as chrome towel rail, toilet roll holder and soap holder.

These are just a few of the wide range of inclusions that come as standard with our Granny Flats. Secure peace of mind and value for money when you invest in a Granny Flat with Ian Cubitt’s Classic Home Improvements.
