In the world of design, and every career has a unique trajectory. Meet Jasmin, a talented designer in the Cubitt's Design Team, whose journey commenced in 2014. Her initial projects involved collaborating with builders to craft high-end custom residences, emphasising the importance of aligning designs with clients' needs and tastes. Jasmin's passion for design started early, driven by her fascination with architectural concepts showcased in newspapers and magazines. With support from her mother, she pursued her dreams wholeheartedly, believing that loving one's job is the key to a fulfilling career. Here's a bit about Jasmin's story.
A love of listening
Jasmin's path into the world of home design began back in 2014, in the Hills. It was here that she joined a bespoke design company, and her career took flight. Her initial projects involved working closely with builders on crafting large, high-end custom residences. It was during these formative years that she grasped a fundamental truth: understanding the client's brief is invaluable when designing a custom home that caters to their personal needs and aesthetics.
Jasmin's fascination with the intricate world of technical drawing was sparked at a young age. She vividly remembers pouring over newspapers, captivated by the majestic homes featured within their pages, and flipping through magazines, mesmerized by the intricate floor plans. This early passion for homes and design was not fleeting; it was a calling. She knew that creating dream homes for people to live in was her destiny.
Behind every successful person, there's often a wellspring of support and inspiration. For Jasmin, that wellspring was her mother, who encouraged her to follow her dreams and passion wholeheartedly. Her mother imparted a timeless piece of wisdom that Jasmin carries with her every day: "If you love your job, you’ll never work another day in your life." With this sage advice as her guiding star, Jasmin embarked on her journey, confident that her love for design would sustain her through the highs and lows of her career.
My passion for technical drawing began at a young age, being fascinated by homes in the newspapers and floorplans in magazines. I quickly realised that creating dream homes for people to live in was exactly what I wanted to with my future. My mum encouraged me to follow my dreams – inspiring me with the quote – if you love your job, you’ll never work another day in your life.
Family-Centric Design
Jasmin's love for design goes beyond the technical aspects of her craft. She's deeply intrigued by different design styles and the vast array of elements and products available in the market that can bring those styles to life. To her, design is more than just a profession; it's an art form, a means of self-expression, and a way to create spaces that resonate with the unique tastes and preferences of her clients.
Family plays a pivotal role in Jasmin's life, and she understands the significance of having the perfect, functional living space to facilitate family gatherings and create lasting memories. Through her work, she aspires to provide that personalized touch that clients cherish, transforming their dreams into tangible, livable spaces where families can thrive.
In the world of design, challenges are par for the course. However, Jasmin's tenacity and unwavering commitment to her craft have been her guiding lights. She takes immense pride in her ability to refine a design until she is confident that it embodies the best possible outcome for the space. Functionality is always at the forefront of her mind, ensuring that every design not only looks stunning but also serves its intended purpose seamlessly.
As a professional who is always up for a challenge, Jasmin constantly seeks opportunities for growth. Currently, her focus is on expanding her construction knowledge to ensure that her designs can come to life in a realistic and sustainable manner. She relishes collaborating with Cubitt's construction and estimating teams, exploring various construction methods, and firmly believes that interdepartmental communication and collaboration are the keys to success.
Jasmin's journey with Cubitt's Design Team has been a pleasure. The diversity of opportunities and the endless possibilities that the company offers align perfectly with her passion for design. Jasmin's ability to blend creativity with functionality, her passion for diverse design styles, and her pursuit of growth and collaboration make her a shining star in the world of design. As we celebrate her accomplishments and aspirations, we are reminded that with the right blend of passion and determination, we can all turn our dreams into reality.
For Jasmin, it's not just about designing homes; it's about designing dreams and making them come true, one project at a time.
